Axis introduces modular control board

Axis Communications has launched a new modular control board consisting of a joystick, keypad and jog dial for responsive and accurate pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) control of cameras on a network, and management of recorded video.

AXIS T8310 Video Surveillance Control Board comprises three units:

- AXIS T8311 Video Surveillance Joystick, a three-axis joystick with a turn knob for PTZ control and six push buttons;

- AXIS T8312 Video Surveillance Keypad, used to navigate quickly between workspaces, cameras, views and PTZ presets; and

- AXIS T8313 Video Surveillance Jog Dial, used to jog and dial through recorded video.

Each unit can be purchased and used either separately or together as one unit.

The units are easy to install using a USB interface.

When using the complete AXIS T8310 Control Board, the modules are interconnected through a USB interface with the AXIS T8312 Keypad serving as a USB hub.

The control board is supported by Axis' video management software, AXIS Camera Station 3.30 and is now available via Axis' Australian distributors: Alloys International, Anixter Australia Pty Ltd, Lan 1 Pty Ltd, and Pacific Communications.

In other Axis news, the company launched several new product ranges in March, including:

- AXIS M11 Network Cameras, comprising the AXIS M1103 (fixed iris) SVGA, AXIS M1113 (DC-iris) SVGA, AXIS M1104 (fixed iris) HDTV 720p/one megapixel, and AXIS M1114 (DC-iris) HDTV 720p /one megapixel

- indoor AXIS P1347 and outdoor-ready AXIS P1347-E five-megapixel fixed network cameras

- AXIS P5532 PTZ Dome Network Camera 29x optical zoom and high-quality H.264 video in D1 resolution

- AXIS Q6034 PTZ Dome Network Camera with HDTV video quality and 18x optical zoom for indoor applications.

These products will become available via Australian distributors between April and July 2010.
